ATOS to acquire DXC technology to become leader in IT services market

It is confirmed that Atos is in advance talk to acquire DXC technology, (DXC was formed in 2017 from the merger of Computer Sciences Corporation and the bulk of Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s tech-services business, and is currently valued at about $6.7 billion). DXC Technology would be its largest acquisition ever.

 

At expert says, it took three to four strong years of DXC technology to reach up to this kind of offer. It means there is right transformation was going in DXC.

 

Atos, French giant has confirmed it’s made an offer to buy DXC Technology for a reported $10 billion as part of an acquisition spree that’s included 12 companies in the last approximately year. Atos has operations in 75+ countries, and generated revenues of €12 billion in its latest financial year.

 

The potential transaction involving Atos, the company confirms that it has approached DXC Technology concerning a potential friendly transaction between the two groups in order to create a digital services leader benefiting from global scale, talent and innovation,” the Bezons, France-based Atos said in a statement. “In assessing this opportunity, Atos will apply the financial discipline which it has always followed in its acquisition strategy.”

 

The DXC acquisition would increase Atos’ presence in the United States, where it generated close to 30 percent of its 11.59 billion euros or $13.72 billion in revenue in fiscal year 2019. DXC has 6,000 customers across 70 countries.

 

Atos has been on an acquisition spree, acquiring or entering into negotiations to buy 12 companies in the last year, the latest being Motiv ICT Security, a cybersecurity company based in the Netherlands. Atos last month said it had reached an agreement to buy Motiv, which specializes in managed security services and security operation center services, for undisclosed terms in a deal expected to close in the first quarter.

 

As per the sources, Atos is on discussion with Dell Technologies on buying its managed security services provider Secureworks.
