Ribbon Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: RBBN), a global software leader in secure and intelligent cloud communications, today kicked off its Seventh edition of annual customer and partner summit Perspectives19, on April 28th in Washington D.C.
The latest edition of Perspectives features general session presentations, panel discussions and breakout sessions from executives from some of the world’s largest communications and technology companies, regulatory bodies and market research firms including AT&T, Bell Canada, BMC, British Telecom (BT), Charter, Etisalat, Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Frost & Sullivan, IBM, IDC, IHS Markit, Microsoft, Poly, Tata Communications, Telus and many more. Each year Perspectives brings together the top minds, thought leaders and decision makers in the technology, channel partner, service provider and enterprise communities to exchange ideas and for the first time, Perspectives19 will be held in Washington D.C.
The event brings great line-up of speakers who will be providing their perspectives on a range of topics that are driving our industry such as 5G, Security and Analytics, Digital Transformation and Enterprise Communications and Regulatory issues such as how the FCC is addressing the robocalling epidemic.
Patrick Joggerst, Ribbon’s Chief Marketing Officer, and Bita Milanian, the company’s Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, recently took a few minutes to discuss what attendees can expect, the hot topics that will be discussed and what they are most looking forward to at Perespectives19.
“We are delighted to bring our customers, partners, industry leaders and other luminaries together at a great venue in our nation’s capital to discuss the amazing transformation that we are all navigating through,” said Patrick Joggerst, Chief Marketing Officer for Ribbon. “This year’s conference will feature insightful presentations from thought leaders across a wide spectrum of technology sectors including service providers, enterprises and regulatory. We are looking forward to some very lively discussions from the top-tier line-up of speakers and presenters that we have assembled.”
As per the study of Ribbon’s, UC adoption is more advanced (41%) in large companies than in small ones (10%), inverting the notion that smaller companies are the first to leverage new technologies. Our research also highlights security’s key role in a comprehensive UC solution,” Joggerst continued. “A staggering 56% of our respondents have been victimized by attacks running the gamut from DDoS to robocalls, and 83% of our respondents want their UC providers to be responsible for providing protection.”
Joggerst added, “Each year Perspectives is made possible by the continued strong support from our valued ecosystem of partners and sponsors. I would like to thank them for their critical part in making this unique event a success year after year.”
In addition to numerous networking opportunities, Perspectives19 features great entertainment activities and breakout sessions covering a variety of topics for service providers, enterprises and channel partners. Ribbon sponsors and partners will be demonstrating their innovative technology and products in the Perspectives19 Solutions Showcase.
In order to continue drive new revenue streams, service providers need to further penetrate enterprises with innovative offerings,” said Tim Banting, Principal Analyst, Workspace Services (Collaboration), Ovum. “Several Tier-1 service providers have announced they are deploying and beginning to leverage CPaaS solutions to engage C-Suite level customers with the ability to deliver low-touch, no-code and pre-built applications that are aimed at addressing today’s critical business communications needs.”
Ribbon’s SVP of Cloud Products, Sacha Gera, will host a panel on Innovations in Cloud Communications on Tuesday, April 30 at the company’s annual customer and partner summit, Perspective19. The session will include tier-one service providers from around the world discussing their CPaaS offerings.

* e-commerce services that make it easy for businesses to access and buy both traditional and new services, from one convenient location.
* the ability to offer on-demand freemium models so that service provider customers can try the apps before they buy them, with the capability of easily adding services onto to existing accounts.
