Sumit Sonal, Xiaomi’s GM – Marketing quits

Xiaomi India’s General Manager of Marketing, Sumit Sonal has stepped down from his position. He was responsible for the marketing of Xiaomi and its sub-brand Redmi’s Smartphones, Smart TVs, Laptops & Tablets, AIoT, Music, and Health & Fitness.
In his LinkedIn post, he wrote, 'It's time for me to move on to new adventures, challenges, and opportunities.'
Sonal has been associated with the company since 2017 and quickly became a recognizable face at the company's launch events.
The news comes amid a wave of departures from the company. After the enforcement directorate charged the company with FEMA violations, Xiaomi India Chief Business Officer Raghu Reddy resigned in December 2022, while the company's previous president, Manu Kumar Jain, relocated to Dubai and took on a global role in the company.
