Meta appoints Arpit Agarwal as Head of Data Science, Workplace

Meta has appointed Arpit Agarwal as Head of Data Science, Workplace at the company’s London office. Agarwal will be responsible for innovations around the data science domain.
Before this, Agarwal worked at Bangalore-based fintech startup Khatabook for a year and a half as Vice President - Analytics & Data Science. In this role, he led the data analytics team and executed cross-functional analytics and executed cross-functional analytics and data science functions for the startup. With great intelligence of leveraging data for business use cases, Agarwal assisted all business verticals in taking proactive data-driven decisions that benefited significant growth and revenue.
In his new role, Agarwal is expected to drive Meta’s vision of data democratization in how consumers use the digital space and live an internet-enabled life. He will be working closely with the more extensive data science and workplace team to bring about new-age innovation in the products and services.
With over 13 years of experience, Agarwal is driving innovation in the data analytics and science domain. He has worked with companies like Zoom Car as Director of Decision science, where he spent about two years sharpening the company’s data- driven decision-making and infusing analytics in almost every innovation developed at Zoom car. Besides, he has worked for Cartesian consulting, Mu Sigma, UBS investment bank, and more.
Agarwal holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from NMIMS, Mumbai, and completed his BE (Hons) in Computer Science from BITS, Pilani. He brings to the table strong domain expertise. In his career, he has been recognized globally for his work in the field of data analytics.
