Apple starts the trial production of iPhone 13 in India

Apple announced that it has begun the trial production of the iPhone 13 in India at the Foxconn plant near Chennai. The company will only produce the iPhone 13 and has no plans to produce the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max in the country.

Despite protests over food poisoning at the Foxconn factory near Chennai, the manufacturer will also expand the production along with continuing it. The company expects to start the commercial production from February next year.

The production of iPhone 13 will help Apple to improve supplies of the model into its global markets since around 20-30% of what is produced in India are usually exported. Apple already produces iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 in the Foxconn plant and iPhone SE in the Wistron plant in Bengaluru.

The device produced will be sold domestically as well as exported to the company’s other markets. Apple has been augmenting its success in India since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic with many consumers buying iPhones or iPad tablets or Mac computers due to work and study from home.
