“Technology has been the biggest driver of transformation – transforming the way we work, the cultures and the work itself. In the formal sectors, organisations are leveraging digital tools and technologies for business operations; we therefore see a renewed demand for Software and tech enabled roles. This is in turn resulting in enhanced opportunities for women to join the workforce. Along with this the opportunity to work in a hybrid manner across geographies and from the comfort of their homes has also created a plethora of options for women.
In unorganised sectors as well, women are using technology to market their skills, enhance their economic opportunities, participate in an informed decision-making network & promote themselves. Today, online networking is playing a critical role in the expansion of women's networks and various forms of digital expressions such as blogging, is amplifying women´s voices and boosting their self-esteem.
Barco India has a strong software development team, sales and marketing and customer services teams and also an equally strong factory operation. Due to the diverse and inclusive nature of our workforce, we were already accustomed to hybrid operations well before the pandemic. Hence as we were coming out of the pandemic, we managed to have a fully functional factory, operating in shifts with strong adherence to compliance, while our software team continued to provide the necessary support from home. The top and senior management was actively involved in ensuring workplace safety and employee health and safety, particularly when we had employees coming into office. The pandemic has not only helped in portraying our reality as an organisation and how we keep creating the employee - friendly culture each day, but has also reflected the eagerness of each of our associates to work to the best of their ability and add to the successes of the company.”
