WhatsApp is eating most the storage space in the mobile phones

WhatsApp has become the most popular messaging apps all over the world and it delivers 100 billion messages a day. Hence, it takes a lot of storage space. The only method to make it lighter is to clear unnecessary chats regularly. However, WhatsApp offers a feature that allows users to check which chat is eating most of the storage space.

Step 1: Open the WhatsApp app and tap on the three-dotted icon, which is located on the top right corner of the screen. Users then need to go to Settings.

Step 2: Tap on the “Data and Storage Usage” option. Here users will be able to find who all are using up phone storage.

Step 3: This option will be available in Storage Usage. Once users tap on it, they will witness all their WhatsApp chats. Users can open any chat and the app will give details on how many photos, videos, Gifs, and other files have taken up storage space. WhatsApp also gives the “Free up space” option at the bottom of the screen. So, if users feel like deleting the media, they can do that right away. If users want to check what all photos or videos a particular chat has, then they need to visit the profile of the individual or group.
