The 9100 PRO offers faster speeds, improved power efficiency, and greater storage capacities, making it a highly anticipated release for gamers, content creators, and professionals
Marking a major upgrade to its consumer SSD portfolio, Samsung has officially introduced the 9100 PRO SSD in India. The new SSD boasts the latest PCIe 5.0 interface, offering significant performance boosts over its predecessor, the 990 PRO. The 9100 PRO promises faster speeds, enhanced power efficiency, and larger storage capacities, making it a highly anticipated product for gamers, content creators, and professionals.
This new storage solution delivers impressive sequential read speeds of up to 14,800 MB/s and write speeds of up to 13,400 MB/s. These numbers make the 9100 PRO almost twice as fast as the 990 PRO. Additionally, its random read and write speeds reach up to 2,200K and 2,600K IOPS, respectively, ensuring smooth multitasking and quick data handling. These advancements make the 9100 PRO an ideal choice for AI-driven workloads, gaming, and high-performance content creation.
The 9100 PRO SSD also features an advanced heat management system for sustained performance. For the 1TB to 4TB models, Samsung has incorporated an 8.8mm thick heatsink, while the 8TB version is equipped with an 11.25mm heatsink. This advanced thermal design improves power efficiency by 49% compared to earlier models, helping reduce energy consumption while maintaining peak performance levels.
For the first time, Samsung introduces an 8TB consumer NVMe SSD with the 9100 PRO, catering to users who require massive storage space. It is compatible with a variety of devices, including laptops, desktops, and gaming consoles, offering a straightforward upgrade path. Samsung’s Magician software suite further enhances the user experience with tools for optimizing performance, data migration, and advanced security features.
The 9100 PRO SSD will be available in 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB variants. The 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB models are set for release on March 18, 2025, with prices of Rs 14,999, Rs 25,499, and Rs 49,999, respectively. The 8TB variant is expected to launch later in the second half of 2025.
