Adi Godrej to be honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award by EY

The global professional services organization, EY will honour Adi Godrej, Chairman of the Godrej Group, with the Lifetime Achievement Award at its 21st Entrepreneur of the Year - India (EOY) 2019 Awards.
From over 225 nominations, the firm has also shortlisted 17 entrepreneurs as finalists. These include KBS Anand (Asian Paints), Peyush Bansal (Lenskart Solutions), Yashish Dahiya (PolicyBazaar), Kuldip Singh Dhingra and Gurbachan Singh Dhingra (Berger Paints), Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw (Biocon), Rajeev Mehrotra (RITES), Falguni Nayar (Nykaa), and Tuhin Parikh (Blackstone India), among others.
All the 17 finalists together have a combined revenue of Rs 100,000 crore and are generating employment for more than 115,000 people in India and globally. The Finalists have also reported significantly stronger financial performance in times when global and domestic economic growth rates have been tepid, EY said.
The finalists were selected by an eight-member independent jury panel led by Uday Kotak, MD and CEO, Kotak Mahindra Bank. The criterion upon which the nominees were judged includes their entrepreneurial spirit, recent financial performance, strategic direction, product or service innovation, company leadership including personal integrity and risk-taking, corporate governance, values, and involvement with the community.
The winners will be felicitated on February 19th in New Delhi. The winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from India will represent the country at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year Award (WEOY) in Monte Carlo from June 4-7, 2020.
“Our 2019 finalists have shown a clear strategy, steadfast focus on staying relevant for their customers and a commitment to creating long-term impact. Their commitment to high governance standards as also to driving innovation in not only customer acquisition and experience but also in achieving operational excellence, differentiate them in their respective sectors,” said Rajiv Memani, Chairman, EY India.
