Ericsson and Huawei to start 5G gear manufacturing, Nokia already shipped 20K 5G radio from India

As per news report, in India, the telecom gear maker Ericsson and Huawei are planning to start manufacturing of 5G radio products for both domestic and exports.

 

the same time, Nokia said that the company has already shipped 5G radios from its Chennai factory and is now planning to ramp its capacity. During the speech of Nunzio Mirtillo, Senior Vice President and Head of Market Area South East Asia, Oceania & India at IMC 2019, he said the in 2018 the company has announced the exports of radio products from its factory in Pune and Nokia is also ready to ‘Switch on’ the manufacture of 5G radios in India.

 

Ericsson had last year started exporting 5G-ready 4G telecom equipment and microwave equipment for 2G, 3G and 4G technologies from its manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra to markets in Southeast Asia like Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand.

 

In 2018, Nokia has shipped $400 million worth telecom gear from its Chennai factory. Also half of it was from exports to more than 35 countries.

 

Huawei had last year shifted to the Free trade and warehousing (FTW), or trading zone for imports near Mumbai after stopping domestic production due to lukewarm demand.
