Samsung foldable phone with Android version

It is finally time apparently for Samsung's foldable smartphone, Galaxy X, to make its debut. It is confirmed that the phone will have a special version of Android and that Samsung is working with Google to develop a special iteration of Android for its foldable phone code named “Winner”.

Though it is not clear what kind of OS this would be or the features it will have, interface will be customized according to a major design decision taken by Samsung.

Samsung is debating between two foldable phone prototypes – one that unfolds horizontally, taking the shape of a tablet, and other that opens vertically like a flip phone. The designers at the company, according to sources, prefer the flip phone-like design as it would be more comfortable to hold. The final design will define what the Android's UI would look like.

According to the report, Samsung “Winner” will come with an added 4-inch screen on the outside for basic functions like messaging, and answering calls.

The prototype weighs over 200 grams and misses an in-screen fingerprint scanner due to the bending mechanism of the device. Its screen opens smoothly but is not as glossy as other smartphones in the market. The device could be showcased alongside Galaxy S10 next year.
