The third iteration of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign to launch today

In honour of the 78th Independence Day, the third iteration of the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign will take place. Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has announced that the campaign will commence from August 9 and will continue till August 15.

Renewing the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign ahead of the Independence Day this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi changed his profile photos on social media platforms X, Instagram and Facebook to the Indian tricolour to mark the occasion.

Indians are being pushed to hoist the national flag, take pictures with it, and post them on the Har Ghar Tiranga portal by Shekhawat.

According to the minister, the motive of the campaign is to develop a sense of patriotism and national pride by encouraging every individual house to display the national flag and take a selfie with it.

In 2022, this campaign was launched under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ program. The campaign achieved massive success. The participants represented diverse communities all over India. Over 23 crores people took part and six crores selfies along with the flag were uploaded in the year the campaign was launched. Next year around 10 crore selfies were uploaded for the campaign. The initiative was successful by including participation from all the states and Union territories.

The Indian Railways, Indian Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) are immensely contributing to the campaign by creating awareness and encouraging participation. E-commerce players along with key industry partners are also contributing their part to the cause. Large-scale flag production has been manufactured by the help self-help groups.

The minister also informed that a special Tiranga bike rally will be organized by the Member of Parliament which is scheduled to take place on August 13 at 8:00 am in Delhi. The rally will begin at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, and will get over at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium. The rally is also set to cross Indian Gate.
