Huawei to set up the largest solar-powered data center

According to news reports, Huawei and Moro Hub are working together to construct a data center in the Middle East and Africa, which will be supported by the largest solar energy and founded on CloudFabric 3.0 Solution. Moro Hub is a digital unit of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), which is well known for its advanced digital and cloud service offerings.

 

This center is positioned at the 3,000MW Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, with a maximum capacity of 100MW stated to use 100% of renewable energy. It’s the second time that the Moro Hub is preparing for the solar-powered data center in Dubai.

 

The first building is located at Dubai Marina with Tire 3 amenities but only delivers the 9MW. It’s spread around 37,000 sq ft area for the other arrangements.

 

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of DEWA, threw the light on the project and said, “This new sustainable data centre supports Dubai’s 10X initiative to make the emirate a city of the future, putting it ten years ahead of other global cities.” He also explained that this service will cover cloud, IoT, and AI also promote a carbon-free computing environment across the globe.
