BEL inks MoU with Grene Robotics Pvt Ltd

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and Grene Robotics Pvt Ltd entered into an MoU at Aero India 2021, Bengaluru, Navratna Defence PSU. The deal was inked for co-operation in the development of Autonomous Manpads Data Link System (AMDLS) and also to leverage the policy initiatives of the Indian Government, such as Make in India.
The MoU was signed on behalf of BEL and Grene Robotics Pvt Ltd by Rajasekharan M V, Director (R&D), BEL, and Wg Cdr M V N Sai, Director – Defence, Grene Robotics, respectively.
The signed MoU aims at bolstering the country’s autonomous air defence capability. This technological collaboration will reduce asymmetries in controlled warfare and will be first deployed on MANPADS, which are short-range weapon systems.
Deploying the system in MANPADS will enable a command centre to give real time firing commands to armed personnel by taking into consideration technologies such as augmented reality and virtual reality. On the ground, when deployed, the system has the capability to reduce fratricide and is capable of handling all types of weather.
