MeitY's Gopalakrishnan elevated to Additional Secretary in PMO

According to a notification issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT)PM Modi’s government on Friday reshuffled and elevated as many as 23 top officials across departments. The secretariat has said in a statement that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the new appointments.



S. Gopalakrishnan, a 1981-batch Tamil Nadu cadre Indian Administrative Officer (IAS) working as an additional secretary in the Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY) has been shifted to the Prime Minister Office (PMO) in the same capacity. Gopalakrishnan has been replaced by Rajendra Kumar, a 1992-batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer. Kumar will take charge in the MeitY instead of his prior appointment as Director-General in the Ministry of Labour & Employment.

 

The Indian Audit and Accounts Service cadre 1989-batch, Subir Mallick has been appointed at a level of Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Defence (MoD). Mallick will serve as an additional finance advisor and joint secretary in the MoD's Finance wing.
 


C Sridhar, a Bihar cadre 2001-batch officer has been appointed as a Joint Secretary in the PMO on a lateral shift basis.



Nagaland cadre's 2008-batch IAS officer Smita Sarangi has been appointed as a Deputy Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat. Sarangi has been serving in the DoPT in a similar capacity.
 


The 1994-batch Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer Ateesh Kumar Singh has been appointed as a joint secretary in the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) for a tenure of five years or until further orders.
