Cybercriminals leaked 2.9 crore Indians personal details in the dark web

Personal details of about 2.90 crore Indian job seekers have been found dumped on the dark net, raising concerns among cyber crime agencies and experts in India over a massive data breach.

 

The data leak was uncovered by Cyble, Inc, a U.S.-based cyber intelligence firm founded by global cybersecurity expert Beenu Arora and found that personal details of 9 Million Indian Job Seekers from the various states were released in the aforementioned platforms. The researchers found that a 'threat actor' posted a 2.3 GB (zipped) file on one of the hacking forums.

 

Cyble researchers have revels on there is potential data breach on the dark web where an actor has leaked personal details of 29 Million Indian Job Seekers from the various states. The original leak appears to be from a resume aggregator service collecting data from various known job portals. Cyble’s team is still investigating this further and will be updating their article as they bring more facts to the surface," an official press release from the by Cyble stated.

Cyble said it has acquired the leaked data.

 

Earlier Cyble had exposed the 22 million Unacademy user account hacked edtech firm Unacademy was hacked and the data was dumped and sold on Dark Web
