Startup Policy Forum, IIT Madras Join Hands To Foster Startup Research, Innovation

IIT Madras has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Startup Policy Forum (SPF) to drive data-driven and evidence-driven policy advocacy for the Indian startup ecosystem. This collaboration marks a milestone in India’s growing startup ecosystem, reinforcing the role of academic institutions in shaping the future of India Startup Policy and business incubation.
The partnership will leverage IIT Madras’s academic, research, and innovation expertise with SPF’s deep engagement in working on startup policy and regulatory frameworks with startups and policymakers, it said in a statement. The partnership will further contribute to IIT Madras YNOS, a startup intelligence platform that brings together information and research on various stakeholders and government schemes.
With India's startup landscape expanding rapidly, this partnership seeks to provide a structured approach to research-driven entrepreneurship. By combining policy insights from the Startup Policy Forum with the technological expertise of IIT Madras, the collaboration aims to generate innovative solutions that address real-world challenges.
The IIT Madras Collaboration with the Startup Policy Forum will focus on:
Conducting extensive research on Startup Innovation and emerging business models.
Formulating data-driven policies to enhance the impact of the India Startup Policy.
Providing mentorship, funding access, and incubation support to budding entrepreneurs.
Facilitating knowledge exchange between academia, policymakers, and industry leaders.
As part of this initiative, a Startup Research Forum will be established to drive thought leadership, policy analysis, and strategy development. This forum will engage researchers, startup founders, and government bodies to bridge gaps in policy implementation and industry needs. This strategic alliance is expected to accelerate innovation by equipping startups with cutting-edge research, policy guidance, and technological expertise.
