Wipro names former Walmart executive Subha Tatavarti as CTO

Wipro has roped in former Walmart and Paypal executive Subha Tatavarti as its Chief Technology Officer.

 

Thierry Delaporte, CEO Wipro informed the employees about the new appointment over the mail adding that all the current CTO teams including Service Transformation, Topcoder, Robotics, SVIC, Technovation Centre, Open Innovation and Applied Research will report to Tatavarti.

 

"Subha brings in over two decades of rich experience in the IT Industry spanning across product development, delivery, lifecycle management, cloud computing services, data technology and analytics," Delaporte said.

 

Subha was associated with Walmart and she led product, technology development and commercialization of Enterprise Infrastructure along with Security, Data Science and Edge platforms.

 

Before Walmart, she served PayPal and headed Product, Data & Infrastructure Platform.

 

"In her previous roles, she was instrumental in simplifying the data and analytics infrastructure, besides pioneering CTO modernization and streamlining initiatives for Cloud, Platforms and Frameworks (CPF). She also led various initiatives in domains including SRE and Developer Platforms," Delaporte said.

 

He also added that Subha had earlier also worked at CliMetrics, Inc. (as Co-founder and Director), Abbott Laboratories, Fannie Mae, and BearingPoint.

 

Subha is based in San Francisco.

 

K R Sanjiv, who was the former Wipro CTO, retired on December 31. He was superannuated after 32 years of service with Wipro.
