Huawei unveils Mate 20 Pro in India

Huawei Consumer Business Group, India has unveiled the most highly-anticipated device of the year – the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, which will set a new bar for smartphone performance in 2018. The smartphone is powered by Huawei’s densest and highest-performing system on chip (SoC) to date – the Kirin 980.
Manufactured with the advanced 7nm process, the SoC offers improved performance, better battery efficiency and a smoother user experience. The smartphone comes with the world's first 40W HUAWEI Super Charger that can charge the phone’s long-lasting 4,200mAh battery to 70% charge in 30 minutes. The Matrix Camera System includes Leica Ultra Wide Angle Lens that lets users not only capture wider, but also closer with its new macro distance capability, allowing users to capture pictures from a distance of 2.5 cm.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro features key contributions from the Huawei India R&D team, allowing for several localized capabilities. It features the recently-launched EMUI 9.0 based on Android Pie that has been developed from a commitment of creating an enjoyable, consistent and simple user experience. Huawei’s EMUI 9.0 is created to “enable a quality life” with digital balance. HiVision – a new feature debuting with EMUI 9.0 recognizes classical art, popular landmarks and can translate text of a range of languages.

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro features a dynamic interplay of industry-leading hardware and advanced software that work together to keep users a step ahead. It offers consumers a compelling combination of powerful AI, flagship performance, longer battery life, advanced security, a greater videography experience, and more – all wrapped in a sophisticated flowing design.
The SoC at the core of smartphones has a determining factor in a device’s performance and efficiency. Kirin 980 is manufactured with the cutting-edge 7nm technology process, the SoC fits 6.9 billion transistors within the size of a fingernail. Compared to Kirin 970, Kirin 980 is 75 per cent more powerful. Mali G76 GPU is 46 percent more powerful and Dual NPU that is 226 percent more powerful. Furthermore, the efficiency of the components has also been elevated: the CPU is 58 per cent more efficient, GPU is 178 per cent more efficient, and the NPU is 182 per cent more efficient. The Kirin 980 is the world’s first commercial SoC to use the Cortex-A76-based cores.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro is the world’s first smartphone to support the 4.5G LTE Cat. 21 standard, allowing consumers to experience download speeds of up to 1.4Gbps. It also supports the world’s fastest Wi-Fi connection speeds - -2GB footage requires only 10 seconds to download. The top-end flagship also supports dual-band (L1+L5) GPS positioning technology. The AI GPS Satellite Selection technology enhances the positioning accuracy across a wide range of scenarios.
Moreover, Huawei Mate 20 Pro supports 15W HUAWEI Wireless Quick Charge, the industry’s fastest wireless charging solution, and Wireless Reverse Charge, which enables the device to work as a power bank for selected electronic devices supporting wireless charging.
Availability and Pricing
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is available online exclusively on Amazon starting Midnight on December 3, 2018 for Prime Members and Midnight on December 4, 2018 at Rs.69,990 for regular customers.
The Mate 20 pro will be available across Croma stores in the key metro cities starting December 10, 2018. Huawei CBG India will provide its customers with many exciting offers as part of its offline retail strategy starting with a bundled offer price of Rs.71,990 for early bird customers, in which customers will get the Mate 20 Pro along with the latest SennheiserPXC 550.
