Coldplay fans in India left stranded virtually

Coldplay fans who want to attend the concert, are experiencing ‘Kabie Khushi Kabhi Gham’!
The chaos surrounding Coldplay’s Mumbai concert ticket sales is unprecedented. It all began when the iconic British rock band announced their live performance at D.Y. Patil Sports Stadium on January 18 and 19, 2025 and fans started waiting for 22nd September to buy tickets online. But, the official ticket booking partner bookmyshow site crashed within seconds and millions of Coldplay fans from India spent their Sunday waiting in virtual queues to book tickets.
To accommodate more, and disappointment for some, bookmyshow announced that one person can now book only four tickets, a reduction from the previous limit of eight. Adding further to fans’ dismay platforms like Viagogo started selling the tickets at inflated prices. According to some news sources fans even spent around Rs 3 lakh on resold tickets.
At the same time official announcement from ‘bookmyshow’ “Protect Yourself from Ticket Scams! Don’t fall prey to unauthorized platforms selling fake tickets for Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025 in India!” added further to the chaos.
Fans flocked to social media, sharing their excitement and experiences. Many emphasized the need to be prepared for the digital queue, with posts reflecting a mix of hope and frustration as they navigated the ticket booking process. “I’ve been waiting for this moment! Can’t believe the site crashed,” one fan tweeted, while another added, “Let’s hope I can get my tickets before they sell out!”
As announced on the band’s official Instagram handle, Coldplay has added a third concert to their Mumbai lineup on January 21, 2025. Tickets for this additional show will go live soon. Also, as per Infinity Tickets, fans get a chance to attend the Music Of The Spheres World Tour at a lower price. These tickets cost the equivalent of €20 (INR 2000) each but must be bought in pairs. But the catch is the seat allocations will be random.
