Indian Supreme Court YouTube page hacked

The Indian Supreme Court's official YouTube channel has been hacked and has been used to show videos promoting Ripple Labs' XRP crypto token. Following the breach, was displaying the name "Ripple" and featured videos related to the cryptocurrency of US-based Ripple Labs.

The channel saw its name changed to "Ripple.live24", which otherwise is used to stream proceedings at India's top court. Videos promoting XRP were uploaded. The entire channel was quickly taken down, with the court saying it would soon return.

A senior official from the Supreme Court noted that the YouTube channel appears to have been compromised, with the issue detected on Friday morning. The Supreme Court's IT team is working with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to address the situation. In a notice on its website, the court confirmed that the channel has been taken down and that services will resume shortly.

Subsequently, the channel's link has been disabled. The Supreme Court's Registry has acknowledged the breach and is taking decisive action to address the incident.
