MeitY extends feedback date on draft amendments to the IT till 25th January

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has published on its website, on 2nd January 2023, draft amendments to the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 in relation to online gaming. Feedback from the public was invited by 17th January 2023.
In the meantime, the Ministry has also considered amendments relating to due diligence by an intermediary under rule 3(1)(b)(v) of the said rules. Feedback is invited from the public on these draft amendments as well. Submissions will not be attributed to individuals publicly and will be held in fiduciary capacity to enable persons submitting the feedback to provide the same freely.
The revised draft amendments are placed on the Ministry’s website. The text of the rules as they would stand after effecting the amendments (with the amended portions of the text shown in colour) is also placed at the website.
In view of the same, the last date for receipt of feedback is extended till 25th January 2023.
