Microsoft to launch ChatGPT AI-Backed Bing Version

Microsoft is reportedly launching a version of its search engine Bing that will leverage the AI behind ChatGPT, a chatbot created by OpenAI.

According to a report, Microsoft could launch the new feature before the end of March, and hopes to challenge Alphabet-owned search engine Google. Microsoft had said that it planned to integrate image-generation software from OpenAI, known as DALL-E 2, into Bing.

The AI-backed answers could take the form of a full sentence that includes the source of the information, or a list of links. However, Bing will still rely on its own technology to produce the most search results because GPT isn’t intended to continuously scrape the web or provide real-time information like a search engine does.

OpenAI made its creation ChatGPT chatbot available for free public testing in November last year. The chatbot is a software program designed to imitate human-like conversation based on user prompts and can respond to a large range of questions while imitating human speaking styles.
