Punjab police seizes drone with 5 kg heroin at Indo-Pak border

In a joint operation with the BSF, the Punjab Police have recovered a hexacopter drone and packets containing five kilograms of drugs from fields near the India-Pakistan border in Khemkaran village of Tarn Taran district.

The hexacopter, an unmanned aerial vehicle with six rotors, was recovered in a joint operation by the Punjab Police and the Border Security Force. On November 28, two Pakistani drones were gunned down by the BSF along the India-Pakistan border in Amritsar and Tarn Taran districts.

The blue and black-coloured hexacopter (model – E616S) along with five packets of heroin weighing 5.60 kg tied to it with black tape was found lying in the agricultural land of a local resident,” the DGP said, adding that preliminary investigation suggests that the drone was equipped to lift a good amount of weight.

The BSF shot down two Pakistani drones along the India-Pakistan border in the state, hindering drug smuggling bids in Amritsar and Tarn Taran districts. The two hexacopters were carrying around 10 kg heroin. On November 30, a broken quadcopter drone was recovered from the area of village Van Tara Singh in Khalra in Tarn Taran.
