Apple’s MR Headset will use iris scanning for Payments and Log In

According to a latest report, Apple’s rumoured mixed reality (MR) headset will use iris scanning for signing in and making payments. The eye-scanning system could work similar to Apple’s fingerprint or Face ID functionality.

Apple will reportedly use the headset’s cameras for iris scanning. The report also claims that the headset allows prescription lenses to be magnetically attached inside the headset. The iris recognition technology will make it easier for multiple people to use the same device and allow them to quickly make payments from inside the headset.

The company is said to use its M2 processor with 16GB of memory for the mixed reality headset. It could allow users to view certain invisible things. Users might be able to see gas leaks and Wi-Fi signals through the device.

Recently, Meta has also announced plans to launch its high-end VR headset, the Quest pro. The $1,500 Quest Pro is touted as a tool for virtual collaboration and hybrid work. It is expected that the Apple MR headset will launch in 2023 priced between $2,000 and $3,000, a significant increase over Meta’s Quest Pro.
