Google selects 20 women start-ups to help them grow and secure capital
By MYBRANDBOOK
Google was looking for Indian startups that are solving problems using advanced technology like AI/ML or data in healthcare, education, finance, media & entertainment, gaming, enterprise & other industries and that can scale globally.
Among 400 applicants, Google picked 20 Indian companies for its Startups Accelerator Women Founders Program. It will help these companies secure capital, hire talent, resolve problems, and extend mentorship to their employees and allies.
Google India’s Google for Startups Accelerator Women Founders program was launched in June this year with a focus on women-led sector-agonistic early-stage and growth-stage startups. The programme will emphasis on access to networks, access to capital, hiring challenges, mentorship, and other areas and it will also provide access to a global community of women founders, said the company.
Some of the startups selected are Aspire for Her, Brown Living, CoLLearn Education, Commudle, Dubverse, Elda Health, Fitbots and more. As per Google, this program is part of an effort by Google towards improving the representation of women across different sections of India’s digitally-trained workforce – be it entrepreneurship, professionals looking to upskill or young graduates seeking a head start on their career.
