Microsoft to realign its online services charges in India and Asia region
By MYBRANDBOOK
Microsoft India has recently announced Indian rupee pricelist changes to harmonize its prices for commercial software and online services within India and Asia region, effective February 1, 2021.
Indian rupee prices for commercial on-premises software will increase by 11% to realign close to prevailing US dollar pricing levels in Asia from February 1, 2021. Indian rupee prices for online services will increase by 9% to realign close to global US dollar levels.
The revised Indian rupee prices for direct sales to India based customers for a select set of online services such as Office 365, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365 will be effective February 1, 2021, on Microsoft website.
These changes will not affect existing orders under volume licensing agreements for products that are subject to price protection for business customers. Prices for new product additions under such volume licensing agreements and purchases under new contracts will be as defined by the price list at the time of order. Customers across India buying online services in Indian rupee will continue to find Microsoft cloud offerings highly competitive.
This announcement has not covered any upcoming changes to Office and Windows consumer products. For indirect sales where Microsoft products are sold through resellers, final prices and currency of sale will continue to be determined by resellers.
Microsoft has also requested its partners not to blog or post this information on their website or social media sites. Microsoft has urged its partners to support this change and requested them to talk to their Microsoft India PDM, Microsoft Account team or a Microsoft distributor for any queries.
