Does ranking by Social media companies matter?

All the major tech titans like Amazon and Google are working out their chips specifically designed to power the new wave of artificial intelligence. According to Sundar Pichai, Google's new chip is far more powerful and far more versatile than the one that came before, designed not only to run the latest machine learning services but to train them as well. No one else has really built a chip like that, though others, including Intel, are scrambling to build such technology. And this time, Pichai says, Google will share its AI chip with the whole world.

Facebook knows your interests, Google knows your intent and Amazon knows what you do commercially. Every tech company is different from the other. However, the intention is to capture the data/user’s behaviour and pattern. All major tech giants into social media business are pushing hard, with the help of Artificial intelligence (AI) on how they could bring the advertisers’ attention towards spending their communication into their respective medium. For instance Google Analytics uses its own analytics to rank other website, where advertisers seek to advertise for their branding, whereas in case of Alexa (Amazon), it uses its own way of ranking the websites. Moreover, installing Alexa toolbar really helps to increase your website ranking, but once you discontinue the service your ranking could go drastically down. The toolbar of Alexa collects data on Internet browsing behavior and transmits them to the Alexa website, where they are stored and analyzed. After Installing Alexa toolbar, when you visit your site it is also considered a hit Alexa for providing your site data. Whether you get the response for the branding or not that doesn’t matter but the agencies and corporates use it as a benchmark for which websites they want to get featured on, it’s worthless if the response rate is not justified.

The Global Alexa Rank indicates how popular your site is around the world and the Local Alexa Rank shows popularity in the country that the domain has been registered in. Alexa is a company (acquired by Amazon) that maintains data regarding websites, and it’s mostly known for its website rank information, called Alexa Rank.

The Alexa Rank can be an important tool for marketers as it could arguably show the advertising potential of a site. The lower the number, the more traffic the site gets and thus the more people those ads can be served to. Domains with lower Alexa Rank are generally regarded as more valuable than domains with higher Alexa Rank. Having a low Alexa Score can increase the CPC that you get through your Ad network or even help you land nice native advertisers on your site. Therefore, lowering the Alexa Rank of your site could prove beneficial for your business and Alexa’s pro products could help you get traffic to your website, which might in turn lead to better rank. It claims.

Google and Facebook dominate the extremely lucrative business of selling digital ads, but experts say Amazon is positioning hard to snatch away the market share, as advertisers have followed consumers from the printed page to the electronic screen. Digital advertising has boomed, and promises to continue to be a massive money-maker, worth $228 billion globally and $83 billion in the US. The market is expected to grow 27 percent domestically and 34 percent globally over the next two years.

One question that arises in my mind - by increasing likes to the advertisement, what is the real conversion of the business?
