One can improve the security of your Facebook account by getting an alert when someone tries logging in from a device or web browser we don't recognize. These alerts will tell you which device tried logging in and where it's located.
About Off-Facebook Activity:
Off-Facebook activity includes information that businesses and organizations share with us about your interactions with them, such as visiting their apps or websites.
Linkedin.com websites and apps have also shared your activity with Facebook. Apart from several other websites share experience.
Many of you might not have noticed to the latest facebook security alert, started a new feature from 1st February update over the past 8 weeks facebook has been monitoring and tracking what you do when you’re offline and not on facebook.
An expert explains, It is really simple by just going to your Facebook settings, scroll down to your facebook Information. Click on off-facebook Activity. You can see the list in Manage Your Off-Facebook Activity.
To shut it down in the same setting, click on “More options” Go into Manage Future Activity and turn it off. You may want to clear the history as well.
But the question is after all one puts all the efforts, does Facebook won’t get these details they would really want. The answer would be FB will still receive your activities. For the shake of may be compliance issue they have given the option like, Turn off future activity?
How did Facebook receive your activity?
When you visit a website or use an app, these business or organizations can share information about your activity with us by using our business tools. We use this activity to personalize your experience, such as showing you relevant ads. We also require that businesses and organizations provide notice to people before using our business tools.
It says:
# Turning this off will disconnect your future activity. It may take 48 hours until it’s fully disconnected from your account.
# We’ll still receive activity from the businesses and organizations you visit. It may be used for measurement purposes and to make improvements to our ads systems, but it will de disconnected from your account.
# You will still see the same number of ads. your ad preferences and actions you take on Facebook will be used to show you relevant ads.
