Bengaluru police joins TikTok to share awareness videos and connect with youth

Social media has now-a -days become an easy way to connect. TikTok has managed to gain more attention among youngsters. If any message needs to be conveyed to the youngsters, what better way than Tik Tok would be?  Bengaluru City Police has joined TikTok to put up awareness videos and  thus be connect better with youth. It joined the video-sharing application after many other city and state police departments signed up on the viral platform.

 

"We are on TikTok because it is a very popular platform and it connects well with youth. We will put up awareness videos and also maintain humor quotient. Our Bengaluru police Twitter profile have gone viral too. The same way TikTok will help the police to reach out to many people," DCP South East Bengaluru, Isha Pant said while speaking about Bengaluru police's decision to join the Chinese video-sharing application.

 

Bangalore City Police has started uploading videos and has managed to garner over 25k followers.

 

The move to join TikTok began when a Facebook user asked Bengaluru Commissioner for an appointment with TikTok India representatives. Commissioner Bhaksar Rao immediately gave an appointment and heard the representatives from TikTok.

 

A week later, a profile of Bengaluru City Police was created on TikTok. The first video shared on its profile urges citizens to follow traffic rules. Whereas the second video shows DCP Isha Pant singing a Kannada song. The second video went viral and got over 104k views.
