Remo D'Souza and Wife Booked for Fraud

A most popular Indian Choreographer Remo D'Souza, his wife Lizelle, and five others have been booked for allegedly cheating a dance troupe out of ₹11.96 crore.

 

The complaint was filled by a 26-year-old dancer. The case was registered on October 16 at Mira Road police station under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 465 (forgery) and Section 420 (cheating), according to an official.

 

The complaint was lodged by the dance troupe, claiming they were defrauded of the substantial sum, leading to legal action against the group. Further investigations are ongoing. In addition to being a renowned choreographer, Remo D'Souza has served as a judge on numerous dance reality shows since 2009, including Dance India Dance, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Dance Ke Superstars, Dance Plus, Dance Champions, India's Best Dancer, DID Little Master, and DID Super Moms. Between 2018 and 2024, he hosted several popular shows, such as Dance Plus (seasons 4, 5, and 6), India's Best Dancer, Hip Hop India, and Dance Plus Pro.

 

Remo is now preparing for the release of his upcoming film Be Happy on Prime Video, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Inayat Verma. Directed by Remo and produced by his wife Lizelle D'Souza, the film centers on the heartwarming story of a single father and his daughter. The cast also includes Nora Fatehi, Nassar, Johny Lever, and Harleen Sethi.
