On September 21, Atishi will take office as Delhi's chief minister

On September 21, Delhi CM-designate Atishi and her cabinet will take office. Atishi was to be the only one sworn in at first, but now her entire council of ministers will take the oath. Originally, on September 26-27 a special Assembly session was scheduled for the swearing-in but it was rescheduled at the suggestion of Delhi's Lieutenant Governor.

On September 17, CM Kejriwal presented his resignation, and Atishi took over. The event will be low-key, with a focus on retaining key ministers from the previous administration.

Sources indicate that although the AAP initially planned for only Atishi to be sworn in, it has now been decided that her entire council of ministers will take the oath alongside her.

Atishi represents the Kalkaji constituency and is the sole woman minister in the Delhi Cabinet. She was unanimously selected for the Chief Minister's position by AAP legislators on September 17. After the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal, who stepped down after being granted bail by the Supreme Court in connection with the controversial Delhi liquor policy case, Atishi stepped in.

With only months left before the Delhi Assembly elections, Atishi, who held multiple portfolios in the previous administration, is set to lead the government. Key ministers from the previous cabinet, such as Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Saurabh Bharadwaj, and Imran Hussain, are expected to retain their positions, while two additional AAP MLAs will join the new Cabinet.
