IBM ropes in Martin Schroeter to head its new independent company

IBM Corp has appointed former Financial Chief Martin Schroeter to lead the independent company, NewCo that will be created after the separation of IBM’s Managed Infrastructure Services business. He will be the CEO of the new firm which will be effective from January 15.

 

The company will focus on the management and modernisation of IT infrastructure in every industry around the world. As per the company, the separation is expected take place by the end of 2021.

 

Schroeter has served IBM as Chief Financial Officer from 2014 to 2017 and also served as Senior Vice President of Global Markets, before leaving the company in June 2020. As a Senior Vice President, he was responsible for IBM’s global sales, client relationships and satisfaction, and worldwide geographic operations.

IBM’s new company, which will have 90,000 employees, will focus on the management and modernization of IT infrastructure across industries.
