A proposed ₹1 lakh crore investment by Trump Media & Technology Group underscores Telangana’s push to become a leading global tech destination, supported by strong state leadership and rising international confidence in India’s innovation landscape.
The Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) has announced plans to invest up to ₹1 lakh crore in Telangana over the next decade, marking one of the largest proposed U.S. corporate commitments to the state. The announcement was made by Eric Swider, Director at TMTG and founding CEO of Truth Social, during the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 on Monday. The funds will be directed toward the state’s ambitious Future City project and other large-scale development initiatives.
Swider said his discussions with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over the past two days reinforced confidence that Telangana is ready to welcome global capital. He added that the state’s leadership had assured him of a business-friendly environment and long-term support for major international investors.
India positioned as a global technology powerhouse
Speaking at the summit, Swider described India as a nation undergoing a transformative technological rise. He noted that perceptions of India have shifted dramatically over the past two decades—from being viewed as a back-end support hub to becoming a global centre for technological innovation and talent.
Swider said India is now producing many of the world’s leading technologists and entrepreneurs, making it a natural destination for large-scale technology investments. “India is on the rise, and it is going to lead the world in technology,” he told the audience, emphasising the importance of collaboration between Indian and U.S. technology ecosystems.
The TMTG director said he was “very excited” about the technological advancements he observed in Telangana during his visit, calling the state a rising hub for innovation. He added that the proposed investment would be aimed at helping build Future City and supporting other forward-looking initiatives. Swider also expressed gratitude to the chief minister for creating conditions that signal Telangana is “open for business” and committed to attracting global investors.
