Infosys, India’s second-largest IT services company, has announced it will acquire a 75% stake in Australia’s Versent Group, a leading digital transformation and cloud solutions provider, for $153 million (₹1,300 crore). Versent Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Australia’s Telstra Group, specializes in AI-driven cloud transformation, enterprise digital solutions, and software engineering services.

The acquisition will create a strategic joint venture between Infosys and Telstra, combining Telstra’s robust connectivity infrastructure, Versent’s local cloud engineering expertise, and Infosys’ global AI and digital transformation capabilities. Infosys Topaz™, the company’s AI-first platform, will be deployed to strengthen Versent’s offerings and accelerate enterprise innovation in Australia.

Formed from the integration of Versent, Epicon, Telstra Purple Digital, and associated cloud products, Versent Group has 650 engineers, strategists, and advisors serving sectors such as government, education, financial services, energy, and utilities. The group reported FY25 revenues of AUD 211.4 million (₹1,800+ crore).

Infosys CEO Salil Parekh said, “With Infosys Topaz, we aim to deliver transformative AI-first capabilities to complement Versent’s cloud-first foundation, creating a new wave of innovation for Australian enterprises.”

Telstra Enterprise Group Executive Oliver Camplin-Warner added, “By combining our strengths, we will help Australian enterprises grow in today’s fast-moving, AI-driven digital economy.”

Telstra will retain a 25% minority stake, signaling strong confidence in the partnership. The deal is expected to close in the second half of FY 2026, pending regulatory approvals and closing conditions. This acquisition follows Infosys’ 2024 multi-year strategic collaboration with Telstra and its 2025 partnership with Telstra International to advance digital infrastructure, enhance customer experience, and drive innovation under Telstra’s Connected Future 30 strategy.
