S. Krishnan, Secretary of MeitY, is a 1989-batch IAS officer with more than three decades of experience in public administration, economic policy, and technology governance. Having served at the International Monetary Fund and in several key government roles, he brings deep expertise to India’s digital transformation agenda. Since taking charge in 2023, he has led strategic initiatives including the India Semiconductor Mission, India AI Mission, and implementation of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act. Under his leadership, India has achieved significant milestones in semiconductor development and digital infrastructure, earning him recognition as a Technology Icon driving the nation’s technology self-reliance and innovation ecosystem.
