Rajendra Singh Pawar, Non-Executive Chairman of Coforge and Co-founder of NIIT, played a transformative role in building India’s IT talent ecosystem. In 1981, he founded NIIT, pioneering a technology education model that democratized computer learning and created opportunities for millions. An IIT Delhi alumnus and Padma Bhushan awardee, Pawar later co-founded NIIT Technologies, now Coforge, helping establish India’s global IT services presence. He also launched the acclaimed Hole-in-the-Wall Education initiative, promoting self-learning through technology in underserved communities. Honored with FICCI’s Lifetime Achievement Award, Pawar is recognized for shaping India’s skilled digital workforce.
