Delhi markets to be closed for 3 days

Due to coronavirus pandemicConfederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has announced a complete shutdown of Delhi markets barring essential items, for three days starting from today .

 

Praveen Khandelwal, Secretary General of CAIT in a tweet said, "Considering the serious situation developing due to the #CoronavirusOutbreakindia #covidindia and keeping in mind the health and safety of Delhi’s 15 lac traders, @TEAMCAIT has announced complete shutdown of Delhi markets from 21st- 23rd March barring essential services."

 

In the release it is said that, “The trade leaders will review the situation on the evening of 23 March and will decide actions for the future. The CAIT has exempted Chemist Shops, Dairy & General consumables from the shut down for the convenience of citizens for procuring their daily requirements."

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday while addressing the nation asked the countrymen to stay inside their houses on Sunday to avoid the spread of the deadly virus.

 

The traders are committed to extending all possible help to the government to spread the virus from spreading.
