TCS has been selected as the strategic technology and innovation partner for New Terminal One at JFK Airport, where it will deploy AI-powered digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, passenger processing and intelligent operations to enhance traveller experience and improve airline efficiency.
The New Terminal One at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) has partnered with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to build an AI-enabled digital ecosystem aimed at delivering a next-generation airport experience. Under the strategic collaboration, TCS will provide technology and innovation capabilities to support intelligent airport operations, improve passenger services and help airlines achieve greater operational efficiency.
The initiative forms part of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's $19 billion redevelopment programme that is transforming JFK Airport into a modern global aviation hub through new terminals, upgraded infrastructure, an enhanced transportation centre and a redesigned roadway network.
TCS to build the terminal's digital backbone
As the technology partner, TCS will develop and manage the core digital infrastructure for the New Terminal One. Its responsibilities will include passenger processing systems, AI-driven IT operations, infrastructure management, enterprise application support and cybersecurity services.
The company will also help establish an intelligent operational framework that enables airport authorities and airline partners to make informed decisions while ensuring smoother passenger movement across the terminal.
The collaboration is designed to create a digitally connected airport environment capable of improving operational visibility, reducing service disruptions and delivering a seamless travel experience.
AI and automation to enhance passenger experience
TCS will leverage its Cognix™ and ignio™ platforms to build an integrated airport operations ecosystem. The solutions are expected to provide real-time visibility across passenger processing, baggage handling, terminal security and other mission-critical airport functions.
The AI-powered platform will enable proactive monitoring and management of airport operations while helping airlines lower operational costs and improve service quality. The initiative is also expected to support personalized passenger engagement and more efficient terminal management.
