Sanjay Malhotra, the 26th Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, brings more than three decades of experience across finance, taxation, power, IT & public administration. An IIT Kanpur computer science graduate with a Master’s in Public Policy from Princeton University, he has held several key leadership roles, including Revenue Secretary and Chairman of the Rural Electrification Corporation. Since assuming office in December 2024, Malhotra has guided India’s monetary policy through evolving economic challenges while promoting technology-driven financial inclusion and innovation. He is helping to shape a resilient, digitally empowered, and future-ready financial ecosystem for India.
