Bank of Baroda has launched bob World 2.0, an AI-powered mobile banking platform that allows customers to initiate payments and navigate banking services using voice commands, marking another step toward conversational banking in India.
Unveiled at the Global FinTech Fest 2026 in Mumbai, the platform is designed to move mobile banking beyond conventional menus and clicks toward more intuitive, intelligent and personalised customer interactions.
A key feature is voice-enabled payments and navigation, enabling customers to verbally initiate transactions and access services. This could particularly improve accessibility for customers who may find conventional digital interfaces difficult to navigate.
bob World 2.0 also introduces a Personal Financial Management module, providing customers with a consolidated view of their finances. Hyper-personalisation further tailors experiences for groups including senior citizens, women, NRIs and millennials.

Security remains central to the platform. Bank of Baroda says the application incorporates a multi-layered security framework providing real-time protection, an increasingly important requirement as banking becomes more conversational and AI-driven.
Built on a modern microservices-based architecture, bob World 2.0 is intended to become the foundation for a broader omnichannel ecosystem spanning mobile and internet banking.
The bigger shift is significant: banking is moving from “tap and transact” toward “speak and transact.” As voice becomes a financial interface, banks will need to balance convenience with robust authentication, fraud detection, privacy and protection against emerging threats such as AI-powered voice cloning and impersonation.
