Truecaller’s AI-powered assistant now available in India
By MYBRANDBOOK
The AI-powered assistant from Truecaller has been made available in India. The AI integration improves communication security, combats spam, and offers more features of support. By employing predictive models to classify and identify potential frauds for both calls and SMS, AI is used to improve Truecaller's capabilities. In order to protect user privacy, the AI model also finds spam communications on the user's device without the need for external data transfer.
To move beyond caller id and scam detection, Truecaller focused on transcription as a feature for its AI chatbot. Truecaller was able to incorporate AI technology onto its platform thanks to the acquisition of Call Hero. The assistance feature was first introduced in the United States before being later made available in other English-speaking countries, such as India. By supporting different languages including English, Hindi, and Hinglish, Truecaller is attempting to localise the software for the Indian market.
Truecaller has put strong standards in place to maintain user control and minimise data transmission in terms of privacy and security. Only necessary data is communicated, and user permission is required for data retrieval. After a predetermined amount of time, data is minimised and deleted. Data access is restricted to a small group of people within the company, and Truecaller's APIs are not publicly available. In order to prioritise data protection, Truecaller additionally localises Indian subject data within of Indian borders.
In its ongoing development pipeline testing, Truecaller keeps its attention on the integration and investigation of AI. For its Indian customer base, the company wants to offer cutting-edge features including assistance services, call recording, and improved spam detection.
